As a result of the destruction of Native American sacred sites in Oxford, Alabama, we (Movement to Preserve Native American Sacred Sites and Culture in Alabama) are holding our first event for this group on March 13th to educate the public on preservation and the importance of Native American prehistoric culture in Alabama. The city of Jacksonville is excited that we are having this event on the square, and the event is going to be fun for families and children.
We want to embrace the public to make them understand the reasons we need to stop the destruction that we see today, and education is just the key to end that destruction in the future. We need volunteers to make the event a success. We will need drumming, story telling, dancing, muscians, or any talent that you can bring and share.
At this point, any and all suggestions are welcome. We are setting a goal of February 28th as the date that we have people together so that we have a few weeks to get the schedule together. All interested parties may send an e-mail to me at raidernationdna@yahoo.com. Here is our facebook and yahoo pages respectively: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=281668047420&index=1
