The greater stain lies in the omnipresent stereotype Indian, tipis and Sioux warbonnets and such, and cheap imported trinkets from one end of town to another. Nothing Cherokee about any of it. There are few shops that carry authentic Cherokee crafts.

The procedes from the Casino in Cherokee help the Tribe to be self sufficient and individual members get a check also. You contribute the same money and maybe they will close it.

The Chinese, Taiwan and other pacific rim "Bazaar" in the tourist section of Cherokee are not tribal grounds. Try the tribal authorized Gift shop across from the museum at the ceremonial grounds and other genuine native american shops on same street
