Miwoks call Yosemite Indians “Them”
Craig D. Bates, Caucasian Yosemite National Park's Indian ethnologist for over 30 years dressed in Miwok ceremonial regalia in the early 1970s. Bates was the person who coined the term "some of them are killers (the Paiutes)" for the meaning of Yosemite in his writings.
