The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, a reservation in Minnesota has been known for years as a leader in Spiritual and Culutrual preservation. Statements made by the Band's Solictor General, RJay Brunkow in a local newpaper discrediting the Tribal Courts decision to order the current Band Assembly to proceed with a special general election based on his interpitation of "zha we ni maa" or the basic code of living for this Ojibwe Nation.
