TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Gov. Charlie Crist may try to renegotiate a deal with the Seminole Indians to expand gambling at the tribe’s Florida casinos.
Crist on Jan. 26 said that was an option. On Monday he had proposed using $433 million from the gaming compact to increase education spending although a key legislative committee already has rejected it.
The governor said he also will keep pushing the Legislature to accept that deal.
Crist said it “wouldn’t be prudent” before lawmakers have even begun their annual session in March to assume they won’t pass it.
It’s the second compact Crist has negotiated. The Florida Supreme Court rejected the first one because Crist signed it without the Legislature’s approval.

That is all I see in Florida, renegotiate again and again as the greed from the state runs rampant. I have watched for a couple years now and if it were me, I'd like to tell the state where to go. The state needs those casinos worse than the natives need Crist.
