GREEN BAY, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Lawton Gallery, located at 2420 Nicolet Dr., is seeking Native American art for an exhibition scheduled in the fall of 2010.
Amii John and Stephen Perkins, directors of the Lawton Gallery, are looking for artwork from artists living in the United States and Canada that uses traditional or non-traditional materials to highlight the concerns of contemporary Native American artists and pushes the boundaries of what is considered stereotypical Native American art.
All ages and skill levels are welcome, and submission can be from all media, including written text. Text works need to be in published form and accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope.
The deadline for submissions is Aug. 1, 2009. Submissions are requested in digital format and can be e-mailed to Amii John at johnal33@uwgb.edu. If unable to send digital submissions, send materials, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to Amii John, c/o Lawton Gallery, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, 2420 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay, WI, 54311. Do not send original work.
