Indian tacos make a great class

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Students in the Coffeyville Community College Native American Leadership Association program gathered for their weekly class and enjoyed Indian tacos and cookies brought by the New Hope Indian Methodist Church in Dewey, Okla.

Members; Lilly Tyner, Janice Albro, Dick Albro and Pat Tah served the food and then entertained the students with holiday caroling including verses of “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear” in the Choctaw and Cherokee language.

In her first semester as CCC Native American Leadership program coordinator, Candace Keah-Tigh has brought guest speakers, basket weaving artists, beadwork and other hands-on crafts and opportunities to the program.

They need The Dine` people to make them. I attended one of their Navajo Nation events and had a Navajo Taco. Talk about huge!! Nice and soft... nicely crispy... need to take a trip to Dine` land. Aside from the mouth watering vision. Kudos to the NALA group!!
