Diabetes Prevention Success Story Contest deadline extended

By Staff reports

The Association of American Indian Physicians has extended the deadline for the $500 Diabetes Prevention Success Story Contest to Feb. 19. The contest is free to enter and the winner, as chosen by the AAIP Diabetes Stakeholder Advisory Group, will win $500. In addition, the individual who submits the winning story for their organization will win a $100 VISA gift card.

The contest is easy to enter; submitted stories need only be one to two pages and/or less than 500 words in length and include basic information such as:

  • Number of individuals reached
  • Description of activities
  • Partnerships that made the activity a success
  • Overall outcome of the activity

All success stories will be highlighted on the AAIP Web site so others can learn from your successful strategies.

Stories must be about diabetes prevention strategies including nutrition, physical activity, education, programs and/or events. Contact Kristy Smithson at ksmithson@aaip.org or call (877) 943-4299 for questions.

Do you ask these programs how they document HgbA1c or blood glucose monitoring?
