By Staff reports

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Mohegan Sun awarded back-to-back Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpots for the second time this month July 25 totaling an impressive $807,833.

Both jackpots hit on the Wheel of Fortune one-dollar progressive system, and were just hours apart. The first MegaJackpot to be paid was an incredible $501,397. The second was a $306,436 prize. Just fifteen days ago, on July 10, Mohegan Sun had an almost identical double play, paying a $515,247 MegaJackpot which was followed almost immediately by a $123,713 prize that hit on a Wheel of Fortune quarter machine, bringing this month’s MegaJackpot payout to an amazing $1.4 million.

Today’s winners both asked to remain anonymous, and both were surprised to find they had won the top progressive prize. The first winner said she was drawn to the winning machine because of the “big payout” but was “not feeling extra lucky today.” When she realized she had hit the MegaJackpot she commented, “miracles do happen!” The second MegaJackpot winner reported being “shocked at the amount” he had won and said immediate plans for his winnings will include “buying a house.”

Quadruple prizes in July brings the number of MegaJackpots paid so far this year at Mohegan Sun to 13, and the prize money payout total to an astounding $6.3 million. To date, 175 MegaJackpot prizes have been awarded at Mohegan Sun since 1996 totaling more than $120.4 million. Mohegan Sun is one of two gaming facilities in Connecticut belonging to a 17-state gaming network that includes more than 300 tribal casinos nationwide. Each time a coin is played in a linked machine anywhere in the network the cumulative jackpot continues to grow until it is won.

Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, is one of the largest, most distinctive and spectacular entertainment, gaming, and shopping and meeting destinations in the United States. Situated on 240 acres along the Thames River in scenic southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is within easy access of New York, Boston, Hartford and Providence, located 15 minutes from museums, antique shops and waterfront of Mystic County.

The Wheel of Fortune one-dollar progressive has a starting jackpot of $300,000. The game features an exciting bonus spin that has come to be one of the favorite facets of the game for players and fans alike. In order to win the MegaJackpot, a player bets the max bet while attempting to line up the Wheel of Fortune symbols on the machine’s payline.
